Four more die in Cox’s Bazar floods

At least four more people died due to flooding in Cox's Bazar in the last 24 hours till 4:00pm today raising the total flood fatalities to 9.

Cox's Bazar district administration confirmed the death toll.

Among the deceased, the floating body of Anwar Hossain (60) was recovered from Matamuhuri river at Surajpur area of Chakaria upazila this morning.

Anwar was missing for two days after he fell in the river, said Azimul Haque Azim, chairman of Surajpur- Manikpur union.

The floating body of another unidentified youth was also recovered from the river in the morning.

Bibhisan Kanti Das, Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) of Cox's Bazar confirmed the death of two more people in the district from Pekua and Ramu without providing any details.
