Hasan Masood's versatility and comedic timing on screen made him a favourite, since the beginning of his acting career. Recently, he gave a crowd-pleasing performance in internationally acclaimed director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's debut web series, "Ladies & Gentlemen", which is produced by Nusrat Imrose Tisha and co-produced by Iresh Zaker and Sardar Saniat Hossain. It is a Chabial Production for ZEE5, in association with Good Company. In a candid chat with The Daily Star, Hasan Masood talks about working on the series, and more.

Tell us a bit about the character you play in the web series "Ladies and Gentlemen".

Mizu, my character in "Ladies & Gentlemen", has a dual personality, which gave me ample opportunities to showcase my range as an actor. I did my best, and I am happy with the way that my character was portrayed in the series.

You have a talent for acting quite instinctively. How would you describe your process?

I tend to blend myself into the role that I am portraying. Subsequently, aspects of the character become dominant in my personality at the time that I am working on the project. I believe that as an actor, it is my responsibility to fully commit to the character.

You have worked with Mostofa Sarwar Farooki on his films 'Bachelor' (2004), 'Made in Bangladesh' (2007), and his television series, '69' (2005). How was the experience of working with him in his debut web series 'Ladies & Gentlemen'?

It is a pleasure to work with Mostofa Sarwar Farooki. Collaborating with him again after so many years was amazing. In addition to being an incredible director, he is a good-hearted human being, which just adds to the experience.

Did you work on any Eid special productions this year?

No, I am not participating in any Eid productions this time. I am staying at home during the lockdown, and intend to continue staying indoors in the coming days.

Do you have any plans to venture into directing?

I don't think I will ever take up directing. Acting is my passion and love. I hope to continue working as an actor.
