He always remained true to his art and principles: Mamunur Rashid

Today would have been the 79th birthday of renowned actor, playwright, academician and Ekushey Padak awardee Dr Enamul Haque. This is the first time his family and friends are commemorating the day without him. He passed away on October 11, last year.

On his birth anniversary, we spoke to legendary actor Mamunur Rashid to know about their friendship and more.

Mamunur Rashid met Enamul Haque in 1972. They were supposed to act together in a play. "We bonded instantly and our love and affection for each other only grew after that meeting," recalls the actor.

"We seldom come across people who are as kind and supportive as Enamul Haque. I never saw him being in conflict with anyone. He beautifully balanced his academic pursuits alongside acting and was deeply in love with theatre," he adds.

Mamunur Rashid admires Enamul Haque's dedication towards art. "He has delivered powerful performances on both television and theatre. He always remained true to his art and his principles," he concludes.
