Dr Enamul Haque was a true gentleman: Abul Hayat
Today would have been the 79th birthday of renowned actor, playwright, academician and Ekushey Padak awardee Dr Enamul Haque. This is the first time his family and friends are commemorating the day without him. He passed away on October 11, last year.
On his birth anniversary, we spoke to his friend and colleague, National Award-winning actor and noted scriptwriter Abul Hayat to know about their fond memories with him.
"Enamul Haque was a true gentleman. He was well-known for his kind and humble nature. I met this man with a golden heart before the country's independence was declared. We used to work together in theatre and remained good friends since then," shared Abul Hayat.
The actor had shared a lot of memories with Enamul Haque in their decade-long friendship. "We started our own theatre troupe after the Liberation War," he adds.
Abul Hayat admired Enamul Haque's patience and dedication. "I never saw him lose his temper or be rude to anyone ever," he shares. "This is the first time he won't be around on his birthday. May he rest in peace."
