Dighi shares emotional message on mother’s death anniversary
Actor Prarthana Fardin Dighi, popularly known as Dighi, shared an emotional message on social media on the anniversary of her mother's death, remembering late actress Doyel.
December 29 marks the 14th death anniversary of Doyel, who passed away in 2011. On the day, Dighi posted a childhood photograph with her mother on Facebook, expressing grief and longing in a heartfelt note.
"Mummy, today is your 14th death anniversary. It feels strange how 14 years have passed just like that," she wrote. "I can't make sense of anything without you. Even though I stay strong throughout the year, this day completely breaks me. The older I get, the more I wonder why you had to leave. I love you so much, mummy. There is no power in this world that can ever fill your absence."
She also requested prayers for her mother, ending her post with a prayer for mercy.
Dighi, whose full name is Prarthana Fardin, began her career as a child artiste and appeared in more than 30 films before transitioning into lead roles. She won the National Film Award three times for her performances in "Kabuliwala", "Ek Takar Bou" and "Chachchu". Now an adult, she is currently pursuing university studies alongside her acting career.
Her father Subrata is also a film actor, while her mother Doyel was a well-known leading actress of her time.
Doyel made her big-screen debut in 1982 with "Chandranath", directed by Chashi Nazrul Islam. Her final film appearance was in "Kabuliwala", directed by Kazi Hayat.
