Muktodhara Abritti Charcha Kendra, one of Bangladesh’s oldest and most respected recitation groups, will celebrate its 36th anniversary today with a day-long cultural programme in Dhaka.
The event will begin at 5 pm at the Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium of the Bangladesh Mohila Samity. Writer and researcher Mofidul Hoque, a trustee of the Liberation War Museum, will deliver the opening address.
The anniversary festival will feature both group and solo recitation performances. Alongside Muktodhara, several invited recitation organisations will take part in the programme.

Rafiqul Islam, an executive member of Muktodhara Abritti Charcha Kendra, told bdnews24.com that the festival will bring together performers from multiple recitation platforms. “There will be group recitations as well as individual performances by leading recitation artistes,” he said.
Muktodhara will present its own special production titled “Mukhomukhi Darabar Eito Shomoy”, scripted by Anisa Zaman Champa and directed by Nasima Khan Bakul.
Invited organisations, including Kotha Abritti Charcha Kendra, Srot Abritti Sangsad, Charukontho Abritti Sangsad, Bakshilangan, Shrutighor and Hridoybritti Sangskritik Shangha, will present group recitations.

Solo recitations will be performed by Masqur-e-Sattar Kallol, Parvez Chowdhury, Foyzul Alam Pappu, Nimai Mondol, Rabeya Rashid Swapna, The Rain, Sementi Rodosi and Omia Amanita.
Founded nearly four decades ago, Muktodhara has played a key role in shaping Bangladesh’s modern recitation movement. Its anniversary programme once again brings together veteran voices and newer performers, turning the stage into a shared space for poetry, protest, memory and rhythm.
