Dhaka wants halt to Israeli atrocities in Gaza
Bangladesh has strongly condemned the Israeli aggression and called for an immediate cessation of its atrocities on the civilian population in Gaza.
“Bangladesh is deeply shocked at the recent Israeli atrocities and violence perpetrated in Gaza, in particular, air strikes, resulting in tragic loss of civilian lives and heavy damage to property and posing renewed threat to regional peace and stability,” according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday.
Bangladesh maintains its principled position on a comprehensive solution of the Palestine issue in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions, the Arab Peace Plan and the Road Map, it said.
Bangladesh calls upon all parties to exercise maximum restraint to avoid further loss of lives and resume dialogue to revive the peace process at the earliest towards a two-state solution.
It firmly believes that Palestinians must have their own independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, the statement added.
