Legendary actor Prabir Mitra passed away at 10:15pm last night at the capital’s Square Hospital. He was 81.

On his 64th birthday, the actor only hopes to remain in the hearts of the audience. "With the love of people, I want to keep acting for many more years," he concluded.

Baena, celebrated for his unconventional and idiosyncratic style, collaborated frequently with Plaza, who starred in several of his films, including “Life After Beth”, a 2014 zombie satire, and “The Little Hours”, a black comedy set in a 14th-century convent. His 2022 film “Spin Me Round”, a dark comedy starring Alison Brie, further cemented his reputation as a director who could blend humour with deeper, often absurdist, themes.

Both Rozina and Anjana have worked on several movies together. Most notably, their films “Abhijan” and “Matir Maya” left an impression on their audiences. During the filming of these movies, they developed a strong bond. Rozina fondly reminisced about the special moments they shared while working on “Abhijan.”

Following its success, Anjana rose to prominence, acting opposite nearly all the leading actors of Dhaka cinema during her prime.

I firmly believe the Indian audience is discerning enough to separate fiction from reality. The notion that someone will start smoking simply because an actor does is outdated. There are far more pressing health issues to address than smoking in films,” he remarked.
