RD Burman’s five timeless hits
Rahul Dev Burman was born on June 27, 1939, to revered musicians Sachin Dev Burman and Meera Dev Barman. Both father and son revolutionised the Indian film music industry, composing several hit songs that would touch the hearts and souls of millions.
R D Burman, nicknamed Pancham, started composing music from an early age. He wrote his first song “Aye Meri Topi Palat Ke Aa” at the tender age of nine. This song was later used by his father in the 1956 movie “Funtoosh”.

Chirkut and Alliance Française to raise funds for Sylhet
Today marks yet another World Music Day, and on this occasion, Alliance Française has organised a concert to celebrate the annual event. The show will feature a special performance by Chirkut, and will also be raising funds for the victims of the flood in Sylhet and Sunamganj.
The concert will begin at 7:30 PM today at the Alliance Française De Dhaka Dhanmondi courtyard. Chirkut’s performance will go on for an hour and a half.

The Platform Live looks to highlight local music scene
The Platform Live is a musical reality show that focuses on highlighting the local music scene in different countries, across a variety of genres.
Originally started in Malaysia in 2020, the show has now started in a number of different countries, including Bangladesh. The show in Bangladesh will feature over 25+ acts during the initial season, which has been broken down into eight volumes. Episodes will be aired on the first Saturday of every month at 8:00 PM, between May and December 2022 on The Platform Live's official website.
