Sindhusaros Recitation Festival 2026 celebrates artistic expression and cultural engagement
The Sindhusaros Recitation Festival 2026 was held on May 16 at the auditorium of Bishwo Shahitto Kendro under the theme, “Let Our Expression Be Artistic”. The event was organised by Sindhusaros Recitation Practice Centre, an organisation that has been working to promote refined cultural practices through both online and offline platforms.
Addressing the programme, Sindhusaros President Masud Monirul highlighted the importance of collective efforts among cultural organisations to preserve the country’s cultural heritage and sustain a healthy cultural movement.
Founder and Chief Coordinator Md Al-Amin said the organisation’s primary objective is to nurture a healthy, aesthetic, and intellectually enriched cultural environment. He noted that Sindhusaros extends its activities beyond adult participants through its youth initiative, Sindhusaros Rising Tone, which regularly engages more than fifty young recitation artists in training and cultural activities.

The festival unfolded in two segments. The opening session featured energetic performances by young recitation artistes, whose presentations drew enthusiastic responses from the audience. The second segment showcased Bangaliyana, a production scripted and directed by Md Al-Amin and performed by senior members of the organisation.
The programme also featured solo and duet recitations by established recitation artistes from different parts of the country, adding to the celebratory atmosphere of the festival.
The event was inaugurated by poet Abdul Hye Sikder. The chief guest was Rezauddin Stalin, while the session was presided over by Valerie Ann Taylor, recipient of Bangladesh’s Independence Award.
In her remarks, Valerie Ann Taylor congratulated the young performers and encouraged them to continue pursuing cultural and artistic activities.
Among the distinguished guests present were Mrinmoy Mizan, Mehedi Hasan, Sarowar Hossain, Shafiqul Islam Bahar, Mahmudul Hasan, Tahsin Reza, Dr Shahidul Zahid, Dr Usha Rani Barua, lyricist and poet Ramchandra Das, poet Roksana, and Ali Askar Khan Pathan, along with other notable figures from the cultural community.
