‘See you at the cinema’: Adnan Al Rajeev confirms his big-screen debut
Adnan Al Rajeev has been making headlines for the past few weeks with achievements for his short film “Ali”. The short won numerous accolades in several international film festivals.
Now, he is ready for his first silver screen project, which he announced through a Facebook post. His post reads, “At the very beginning of my career in advertising, I made a love story called ‘Kache Ashar Golpo’. At that time, it was the biggest hit of my life. From there, a dream began to grow within me — that one day, I would make a romantic feature film.”
He further wrote, “Dreams grow older too. Before I knew it, many years had passed. In that time, I have told many stories. Many characters have come and gone. Yet I have always searched for a love story that felt truly my own. Stories are a lot like the people we fall in love with. Some arrive unexpectedly and knock on your door. Others never come. They sit at a distance, and no matter how often you call, they refuse to move closer. My story was like that. It sat quietly at a distance, and I sat quietly beside it. I wrote. I erased it. Then I wrote again. Sometimes I thought I had finally found it, only to realise later that I had not.”
He finally discloses that he is set for a silver screen project, saying, “Then one day, I noticed that the story was no longer sitting far away. Slowly, it came to sit beside me. Now, I can see it clearly. I am about to make the first feature film of my life. See you at the cinema.”
