My thoughts are now entirely centred on motherhood: Mousumi Hamid
Having established herself across television dramas, OTT platforms and films, actress Mousumi Hamid has enjoyed a successful career in the entertainment industry for well over a decade and a half. Yet, for the past few months, she has been away from shooting, embracing a very different phase of life.
The actress is expecting her first child, with the baby due in September. As she and her husband, Abdul Wadud, prepare to welcome their little one, Mousumi says her thoughts are now entirely centred on motherhood. While she has taken a break from acting, she continues to work regularly at her office.
Speaking about this new chapter, Mousumi said, "To be honest, this is unlike any other time in a woman's life. I would even say it is a challenging phase. Day by day, my baby is growing inside me. By the grace of Allah, my child will soon see this beautiful world and its light. The emotions are truly indescribable."
Although she has stepped away from film and television sets, she has remained active professionally.
"I haven't been shooting for quite some time, but I go to the office regularly, and I'm genuinely enjoying it. It keeps me occupied and gives me a sense of fulfilment. I manage all my work from there, and I'm finding great joy in being part of the office every day," she said.
Mousumi and her husband jointly run Adcelerate Technologies Limited, a venture that has become the focus of her attention during this period.
"I really enjoy working for our company. Since life has taken on a different rhythm, staying busy with work feels good. Going to the office, concentrating on our projects and spending my time productively has made this journey much easier," she added.
The actress also emphasised the importance of following medical advice throughout her pregnancy.
"Of course, I'm following my doctor's advice carefully and doing everything I'm told. I suppose I'll truly understand the next set of emotions once I become a mother. What I do realise now is that this is an incredibly important and unique phase in every woman's life."
Despite her temporary break from acting, Mousumi remains optimistic about returning to the screen.
"I've worked a great deal over the years, and there will be plenty of opportunities to work again in the future. For now, I just want to embrace this time as it comes. We're trying to build something meaningful through our company, and we have many dreams and plans for the future."
Concluding the conversation, she requested prayers and blessings from her well-wishers.
"I seek everyone's prayers and blessings. I hope the next few months pass smoothly and that I remain healthy."
Mousumi Hamid married her long-time friend, Abdul Wadud, after years of friendship, and the couple are now eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first child.
