Teenage boy stabbed to death in Dhaka's Banani

A teenage boy was stabbed to death allegedly by his friends in Dhaka's Banani area last night.

The deceased was identified as Shakil (14), a sixth grader living in Korail slum in Mohakhali.

Sub-inspector Yeasin Hossain of Banani Police Station said some boys stabbed Shakil in the chest near Banani Star Kebab and Restaurant around 10:30pm.

On information, his family members rushed him to a hospital in Mohakhali where doctors declared him dead.

The victim's father Jasim Uddin said his son was killed after some of Shakil's friends called him from their house.

Filing of a case in this connection is underway and police are trying to arrest the killers, the SI said. The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
