Police recover charred body from a garden in Magura

Police yesterday recovered a charred body from a mahogany garden at Dariapur village in Magura's Sadar upazila.

"Locals found the body in the garden around 8:00am yesterday while it was still burning and reported it to the nearby Hajipur Police Outpost. A police team went to the scene and recovered the body. Police, PBI, and CID have started their investigations into the matter," said ABM Doha, officer-in-charge of Magura Sadar Police Station.

It seemed the culprits tried to deform the victim after murder, said police.

No one has been arrested in connection with this incident yet, reports our Jhenaidah correspondent.

Very often gamblers arrange games by the roadside of Burirbazar at Dariapur village. He might have been killed over a gambling-related incident, locals alleged.

"A DNA test will be conducted to identify the victim," said Tariq Al Mehdi, Magura Additional Superintendent of Police.
