Man arrested for raping 12-year-old in Jurain shoe factory

A thirty-year-old man has been arrested for raping a 12-year-old at a shoe factory in Dhaka's Jurain area this afternoon.

The victim, an employee of the factory, was sent to one-stop crisis centre at Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment and forensic test.

Police arrested the accused rapist Mohammad Rabbi, son of the victim's employer, after the incident, said Sub-inspector Rafiqul Islam of Kadamtali Police Station.

Filing of a case is underway, he said.

The victim's father said his son joined the factory a month back.

Around 2:00pm, Rabbi asked all the employees of the factory to leave and after that he raped the boy. The family came to know about it after the boy retuned home crying, the victim's father said.
