Man arrested over attempted rape of 18-year-old in Jashore

Police arrested a man in a case filed over attempting to rape an 18-year-old girl in Keshabpur upazila of Jashore last night.

The arrestee is Ajibar Rahman Dafadar (40), a resident of Jhikra village in Keshabpur.

The victim's father has filed a case with Keshabpur Police Station following the incident, our Benapole correspondent reports.

Keshabpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Borhan Uddin confirmed the incident.

According to locals and police, the victim was taking a bath in a pond near her house yesterday afternoon when Ajibar attempted to rape her.

At the cries of the young woman, other women nearby came and rescued her and Ajibar Rahman fled.
