Madrasa teacher arrested for abducting, raping teenager in Lalmonirhat

Police have arrested a 45-year-old madrasa teacher for abducting and raping a 14-year-old in Lalmonirhat town.

Locals caught Saddam Hossain from a rented house at Khochabari Abdultari area on Saturday night and handed him over to police, confirmed Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station Shaha Alam.

The abducted teenager was rescued from the same house. The girl's mother filed a case against Saddam at Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station the same night, the OC added.

Saddam is from Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila and teaches at a local madrasa. He used to tutor the victim, and had abducted her around one week ago, police said quoting the case statement.
