Madrasa superintendent arrested for attempting to rape child in Khagrachhari

Police arrested a madrasa superintendent on charge of attempting to rape a student in Khagrachhari's Manikchhari early today.

The arrestee was identified as Maulana Mohammad Nazmul Hassan (33), superintendent of Madrasatul Madina at Barobil area of the upazila, reports our Bandarban correspondent quoting Md Ilias, inspector (investigation) of Manikchhari Police Station.

Nazmul was arrested following a case filed by victim's family members today, said the police official.

According to the case document, Nazmul tried to rape the eight-year-old boy on May 3 at the madrasa.

The family members came to know of it yesterday when the boy was unwell, it stated.

"Several injury marks were found in the victim's body when he was brought to the local health complex," said Md Mohiuddin, doctor of the health complex.
