House help’s body recovered from school teacher’s home in Pirojpur

Police recovered the hanging body of a domestic help from the house of a school teacher in Pirojpur town today.

The deceased was identified as Swapna alias Rozi (11), daughter of Abdur Razzak Sardar in Durgapur village in Pirojpur's Sadar upazila, reports our Pirojpur correspondent.

Swapna had been working at the house of school teacher as a domestic help for nearly four years, said Habibur Rahman, paternal uncle of the deceased.

Only the teacher and Swapna lived in the house, added Habibur.

On information, a police team recovered the hanging body of the girl this afternoon and sent the body to the hospital morgue, said Nurul Islam Badal, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.

Police primarily suspect that she died by suicide, said the OC. But the exact cause behind the death will be known after receiving the autopsy report.
