Failing to get job after paying bribe, jobseeker kills woman in Pabna
Failing to get expected job even after paying bribe, a jobseeker along with three others killed a woman at Mushuriapara village in Pabna's Ishwardi upazila on Thursday.
The victim, Mukti Khatun Rita (27) was an employee of Bangla Power.
Meanwhile, the three suspected killers, who were arrested following the murder, confessed their involvement with the crime to the court under section 164, reports our correspondent quoting Asaduzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ishwardi Police Station.
Arrestee Sabbir (21) paid Tk 70,000 as bribe to the victim Mukti for a job at Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant through the victim's husband Baizid. He neither got the job nor got his money back
Sabbir, Sharif Sarkar, a 17-year-old boy and an unidentified man chalked out a plan to kill Mukti, said the OC.
According to their plan, the four went to the victim's house on Thursday noon when she was alone. They strangled her and stabbed her, added the OC.
Police arrested three of them and also seized the knife used in the killing, the OC said.
They are trying to nab the other accused.
The arrestees confessed their crime in their confessional statements to the senior judicial magistrate's court-2 on Friday and Saturday. Senior judicial magistrate Ashraful Islam recorded their statement under section 164, the OC said.
The arrestees were sent to jail yesterday.
