Case filed against youth for raping minor in Pabna

A 19-year-old youth raped a 13-year-old girl at Sujanagar upazila in Pabna on Friday night, police said quoting victim's family.

The victim was sent to Pabna General Hospital for medical examination this morning after her father filed a case with Sujanagar Police Station yesterday.

Bodruddoza, officer-in-charge of the police station, said the accused rapist Shakib Hossain (19) lives near the victim.

As she was collecting wood near her house on Friday evening, Sakib called her to his house where he raped the girl, the OC said quoting the victim's family.

Later, the family members and locals rescued her and by this time the accused fled. Police are trying to nab the culprit, the OC added.  

Meanwhile, police arrested a college student after a man filed a case with Chatmohar Police Station on Saturday, accusing him of raping his daughter.

The arrestee, Hashem Ali, is a student of a local college.

Quoting case statement, Aminul Islam, the OC of Chatmohar police station, said Hashem raped a college student on February 2, luring her with the promise of marriage.

The victim was sent to the hospital for medical examination yesterday, the OC added.
