2,355 yaba pills seized at Dhaka airport; 4 post office employees arrested

Four employees of Bangladesh Post Office were arrested on suspicion of involvement in drug trading after 2,355 pieces of yaba pills were seized at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this morning.

"Aviation security scanner Sultan Mahmud identified yaba-like objects while scanning a cargo bag of the post office around 7:20am today at the hangar gate-8 of HSIA," Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul-Ahsan, executive director of the airport said in a WhatsApp message.

Upon receiving the news, Squadron Leader Ashekin, Squadron Leader Faria and ASP Anita went to the spot and seized 2,355 pills, he said.

Later, the four arrestees and the yaba pills were handed over to a representative of the Department of Narcotics Control, the message read.
