Man arrested for attempting to rape step-daughter in Rajbari

A man was arrested in Rajbari's Goalanda last night for allegedly trying to rape his step-daughter, an eighth grader. 

The arrestee is a cook by profession. 

A case was filed at Goalondo Ghat Police Station by the victim's mother against her husband, under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, said Mohammad Abdullah Al Tayabeer, officer-in-charge of the police station. 

Around 5:00pm yesterday, the accused tried to rape the victim when his wife was out of the house. The neighbours came to the rescue hearing the victim's screams and caught the man red-handed. 

The offender was sent to the court and the victim was sent to Rajbari Sadar Hospital for medical tests, said the OC.
