Third grader brutally killed in Jashore

Unknown criminals brutally killed a student of class three and left the body near a canal in Jashore's Chaugachha area this morning.

The deceased was Sakib Hossain (12), son of Alamgir Hossain in Chuadanga Sadar, and he studied at Swaruppur Government Primary School under Chaugachha upazila.

He used to live at his grandfather Khalilur Rahman's house in Swaruppur village, our Jhenidah correspondent reports.

No one was arrested in this connection yet.

Being informed by locals, police recovered the body from near a canal around 10:00am, said SM Enamul Haque, inspector (investigation) of Chaugachha Police Station.

The boy's right eye was taken out by the unknown criminals, the OC said, adding that the victim may have been strangled to death.

Quoting his grandmother Fatema Begum, the OC said Sakib went into missing yesterday evening.

The process of filing a case is underway and law enforcers are working to find out the reason behind the murder.
