3 held for rape in Narayanganj, Chandpur

Three persons have been held in connection with two separate incidents of rape in Narayanganj and Chandpur.

In a case filed with Fatullah Model Police Station in Narayanganj, Kader Shanto, 19, the prime accused, and his associate Abu Bakar Siddik Shuvo, 23, were arrested from Elenga area of Tangail early today, Maj Talukder Nazmus Sakib, deputy director of Rab-11, said in a press release.

Upon primary investigation and interrogation, it was found out that they along with three to four others gang-raped a woman on August 28, the Rab official said.

In Chandpur, Md Sohel Hosen, 24, was arrested for allegedly raping a college girl in the upazila, Shah Alam, officer-in-charge of Shahrasti Police Station, said. 

According to the case statement filed by the victim's father, Sohel raped the girl on August 3.
