Youth held on rape charge

A youth was arrested from Tulpai village in Kachua upazila of the district on charge of raping a minor girl at the village on Thursday afternoon. The arrestee is Sumon Miah, 28, son of Bachchu Dali of the village. Officer-in-Charge Ibrahim Khalil of Kuchua Police Station said Sumon forcibly took the girl, a Class IV student of Tulpai Pashchim Darashai Government Primary School, to an under-construction house when she went to a shop near their home to buy some goods and raped her around 7:00pm.
