Youth held with pistol, bullets

Detectives arrseted a young man along with a foreign made pistol and five bullets at Atapara in the district town yesterday morning.

The arrsetee is Obaidur Rahman Pantho, 33, son of Selim Mia of the area.

Police said a team of DB police, acting on a tip-off, raided the hosue of Pantho at around 7:00am and arrested him along with the firearm and bullets.

The arrestee was involved in criminal activities in the area, said Amirul Islam, officer-in-charge of DB police in the town.

A case was filed against the youth under the Arms Act, said the OC.
