Youth gets life for rape

A court here yesterday sentenced a youth to life term imprisonment for raping a girl last year. Judge Sharif Uddin Ahmed of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal delivered the verdict against Amin Hossain Mandol, 25, son of Mokbul Hossain Mandol of Golgonda village in Ghatail upazila. According to the prosecution, Amin raped the girl of the same village on June 28 last year, promising to marry her. The victim's father later filed a case with Ghatail Police Station, accusing Amin.
