Work on under-construction Bangabandhu sculptures to continue: Quader

Star Online Report

Amid threats from anti- sculpture protesters, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today vowed to continue work of the under-construction Bangabandhu sculptures.

Referring to Kushtia's incident, he said those who will show such audacity will have to face grave consequences.

He was speaking at a press conference on contemporary issues at his secretariat office.

About protecting the existing sculptures, he said authorities concerned will take necessary steps in this regard.

About Padma Bridge, he hoped that the last span would be installed by December 10.

After installation of all spans, it would take only 10 to 12 months to complete other works of the bridge, he also said.
