Woman killed in Sirajganj

Police recovered the body of a mentally challenged woman from Shahzadpur upazila of Sirajganj early today.

The victim was identified as Nargu Khatun, 36, daughter of Ismail Sardar of Bri-Angaru village, reports our Pabna correspondent quoting Shahed Mahamud Khan, officer-in-charge of Shahzadpur Police Station.

Nargu was mentally challenged and physically unwell for a long time, said the OC quoting victim's family members.

Police recovered the body after locals found it in a field near her house in the village.

Brothers of the victim might be behind the murder, the OC said adding that they are absconding since the body was found.

The body was sent to Sirajganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police were conducting further investigation into the incident.
