Wall collapse kills 2 boys in Rangpur

Two minor boys were killed when a wall of an abandoned house collapsed near Bihari Colony at Alamnagar area in Rangpur city early today.

The deceased were identified as Ayat, 4, son of Bappy Hossain and Arnab, 7, son of Ruhul Amin, residents of Alamnagar area in Rangpur City Corporation. Both were cousins in relation and today was Ayat's birthday, said family members.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station, ABM Zahidul Islam said that Ayat and Ruhul were critically injured when the wall of an abandoned house suddenly collapsed on the rickshaw carrying the due.

Locals rescued the injured boys and immediately rushed them to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where the duty doctor declared both of them dead.

"A case was filed in this connection with this police station," the OC added.
