Two murder case accused arrested

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on early Sunday arrested two youths in the cases for killing a man in Ramchandra purhat area in Sadar upazila in 2014 and hurling cocktails on the elite force members in the same area on August 20 this year.

The arrestees were identified as Mohammad Bagha, 30, son of late Sahabuddin of Chunakhali village, and Sajid Ahmed Tutul, 30, son of Fazlu Manna of Ramchandrapur village in the upazila.

 On secret information, a team of Rab-5 of Chapai -nawabganj Camp conducted a drive at Amnura village around 1:40am and arrested the two, says a press release.

On June 8, 2014, a gang stabbed Azizul Haque Azu, 40, of Ramchandrapurhat area over previous enmity while he was taking tea at a stall in the area around 11:30am, leaving him dead on the spot.

Victim's wife Rani Begum filed a murder case, accusing 46 people with Sadar Police Station the following day.

On August 20 this year, the same gang hurled several cocktails targeting the elite force members when they went to the area to arrest the accused in the murder case, leaving two Rab personnel injured.

Rab filed a case with Sadar Police Station in this connection the same night.
