Two girls commit suicide

Two teenage girls allegedly committed suicide at Ratnai Moradhar and Harinmari Noyabari villages in Baliadangi upazila of the district on Sunday and the day before.

Police and locals said schoolgirl Kajoli Akhter, 15, daughter of Abdur Razzak of Ratnai Moradhar village, took her life by hanging herself from a tree near their house early Sunday.

The reason behind the suicide could not be known immediately.

On Saturday, madrasa girl Rina Akhter, 14, daughter of Abdul Haque of Harinmari Noyabari village, killed herself by hanging herself from the ceiling of her room.

Police suspected Rina committed suicide as her parents refused to give her  money for picnic.
