Touchstone statue seized

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and police in a drive seized a touchstone statue of Lord Bishnu, weighing about 148 kg, from a mango orchard at Sonadoho village in Gomostapur upazila of the district on Sunday. On secret information, a team of BGB and police, led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer AM Alamgir Kabir raided the orchard and recovered the touchstone statue worth about Tk 1.48 crore, said Lt Col Jahid Hasan, commanding officer of BGB-43 Battalion. However, none was arrested in this connection.
