Three Sonali Bank officials held in Pabna

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in the district yesterday arrested three officers of Sonali Bank in Pabna on charge of misappropriating Tk 28.3 lakh from government fund by forging bank cheques.

The arrestees are Md Abdus Salam, principal officer of the bank's town branch, Md Delwar Hossain, principal officer of its Zila Board branch, and Arup Kumar Bhattacharya, officer of the town's branch.

The three were arrested when they were asked to come to the office of ACC for interrogation.

The arrestees along with three local LGED officials embezzled Tk 28.3 lakh by forging bank cheques from 2010 to 2011, said ACC Deputy Director Abu Bakar Siddique.
