Teenager found dead
Police recovered the throat-slit body of a teenage boy from a bamboo cluster beside a canal in Panchagarh Sadar upazila yesterday.
The victim, Alamgir, 18, a rickshaw-van puller, was son of Kaimul Islam of Debnagar village in Tentulia upazila of the district.
Police primarily suspect that criminals might have killed the boy on Saturday night and took away his rickshaw-van and mobile phone set.
Although Alamgir hails from Tentulia, he used to live at his maternal grandfather's house at Patipara village in Sadar upazila.
Quoting the victim's relatives, Inspector (Investigation) of Panchagarh Sadar Police Station Ashraful Islam said the boy went out of his Patipara house on Saturday morning to meet his parents in Tentulia and remained missing since then.
People of Bakshiganj village saw Alamgir's body in the morning and informed the police, who recovered the body and sent it to Panchagarh Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
