Students vow to uproot drug abuse

People from all walks of life including students yesterday vowed to uproot drug abuse from society at a drug destroying programme on the Thakurgaon Government Boys' High School premises. 

BGB-30 Battalion organised the programme where they destroyed seized drugs including 7,433 bottles of Indian phensidyl, 1,058 bottles of foreign liquor and 810 ampoules of contraband sedative injections worth about Tk 48 lakh, said the commanding officer of the battalion.

Prior to destroying the drugs, a discussion was held there where Mayor of Thakurgaon municipality Mirza Faisal Amin attended as chief guest.

The speakers said through developing awareness against drug abuse, the younger generation can be saved from the social curse.
