Stolen baby rescued

Police rescued a baby girl from Matirhat area in Kamalnagar upazila early yesterday, a day after she had been stolen by an unidentified woman from the upazial health complex. M Kabir Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Kamalnagar Police Station, said a police team, acting on a tip-off, raided the area and rescued Mim. However, the accused managed to flee the scene, sensing the presence of the law enforcers. Earlier, mother of the victim Shamsun Nahar went to health complex along with her daughter Mim on Tuesday noon. At that time, she gave Mim to an unknown woman and went to collect ticket. Later, the woman fled the scene with Mim.
