Stalker jailed

A mobile court sentenced a youth to six months' imprisonment for stalking a schoolgirl in Mathbaria upazila of the district yesterday. The convict is Nayan Mridha, 19, son of Nazrul Mridha of Sabujnagar village. Khandakar Mostafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Mathbaria Police Station, said Nayan used to tease the girl, 13, on her way to school in the area. Informed by locals, police arrested Nayan from the spot yesterday. He was later produced before the court, led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer SM Farid Uddin, which punished him, said the OC.
