Siblings die after falling under train in Chattogram

Two siblings died after falling under the wheels of a train in Chattogram's Mirsarai upazila this evening.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Malek (23) and his sister Yasmin Akter Moni (14), said police. The two were from Chandpur.

Malek, a youth impaired of hearing, was trying to cross the rail track at Chhoto Kamoldaha around 5:00pm when a train was approaching closer and blowing its whistle, said Kamrul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Government Railway Police, Chattogram.

Seeing this, Malek's sister Moni rushed there to save him but failed as the train hit them both leaving them dead on the spot.

On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies, said the OC.
