Shops gutted

Three shops were gutted in a fire at a local market in Mathbaria upazila of the district early yesterday.

Fire service sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at a fuel shop at Tushkhali Bazar around 2:30am.

On information, two fire fighting units from Mathbaria and Bhandaria fire stations went to the spot and doused the blaze, Abdul Haque, station officer at Mathbaria Fire Station, said.
