Shop employee burnt alive
A man was burnt alive and two others were injured when a fire broke out at Barochaona Bazar in Sakhipur upazila of the district early yesterday. The deceased, Hamidul Haque, 22, of Kalia village in the upazila, was an employee of a stationery shop. The fire originated from an electric short-circuit around 3:00am at a tin-shed stationery shop owned by one Abdul Khaleq and soon engulfed other three adjacent shops, said Bazlur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Sakhipur Police Station. Hamidul was burnt alive while two other employees were injured as they were asleep inside the stationery shop.
