Shat Gambuj Mosque a blessing for earth: Bernicat
US Ambassador to Dhaka Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat today said that the historic Shat Gambuj Mosque in Bagerhat with its cultural diversity is a blessing for the earth.
She made the remarks while talking to reporters after visiting the historic mosque built in 1416 by Khan Jahan Ali, who came from Persia to spread Islam.
Pointing out the mosque, she said: "This asset of Bangladesh is a matter of pride for the world. I heard about it from my colleagues."
"The renovation for preserving its traditional look has been successful," she added.
Earlier, the US envoy reached the Shat Gambuj Mosque Complex in Bagerhat around 9:15am from Khulna.
