Schoolteacher held under ICT Act

Police arrested a schoolteacher on charge of posting on Facebook a distorted photo of the local MP's wife in Kanaikhali area of the district town yesterday. The arrestee is Tasnuva Rahman Mitu, 38, assistant teacher of Natore Government Girls' School, and daughter of Mafiz Uddin of the area in the town. Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said the schoolteacher distorted a photo of lawmaker Shafiqul Islam Shimul's wife and posted it on Facebook. On Friday night, convener of Natore municipality unit of Jubo League Sayem Hossain Uzzal filed a case under the ICT Act in this connection.
