Robbers loot trader's house

A gang of robbers looted gold ornaments, a laptop and cash from the house of a grocery shop owner at Amlapara in the town on Saturday night.

Police, quoting family members, said a gang of five robbers entered the house of Salimullah Swapon at around 7:30pm, when he was out of his residence.

The gang tied up the family members and held them hostage at gunpoint. They took 25 tolas of gold ornaments worth Tk 10 lakhs, a laptop and Tk 9,000, said Swapon.

Swapon filed a robbery case, accusing five unnamed people, with Sadar Police Station.
