Road crashes kill 7 in three districts

Seven people were killed and 15 others injured in three separate road accidents in Dinajpur, Panchagarh and Comilla districts this morning.
Of them, three people were killed in Dinajpur while two motorcyclists in Panchagarh and two others in Comilla.
In Dinajpur, a bus from Dhaka collided with a truck on Dhaka-Dinajpur highway at Ratnadighi around 6:00am leaving three passengers dead on the spot, our Dinajpur correspondent reports quoting police.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately, said Ismail Hossain, officer-in-charge of Nawabganj Police station.
All the deceased were passengers of the bus, he added.
In Panchagarh, two motorcyclists were killed as a truck ran over them in Heliport area on Panchagarh-Tentulia highway last night, reports UNB.
The deceased are: Abdul Majid, 40, son of Dabiruddin, a resident of Kateypara area of Panchagarh town, and Irfan Ali, 40, a resident of Birganj upazila of Dinajpur.
Maminul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said both of the victims fell on the road as the truck hit their motorbike.
Later, the truck ran over the duo leaving them dead on the spot.
Police recovered the bodies and sent to Panchagarh Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police also seized the truck but its driver and helper managed to flee the scene.
A case was filed in this connection, the OC added.
In Comilla, two people were killed as a truck skidded off the Dhaka-Chittagong highway and fell into a pond near Raipur bus stand in Daudkandi upazila, reports a correspondent.
The deceased Md Selim, 66, a former member of Raipur union and his son Sarwar, 25, were residents of the area.  
The accident took place as the truck ploughed through the victims while they were crossing the road around 7:00am, said Rafiqul Islam, a sub-inspector of Daudkandi Highway Police Station.
