Remark on Sculpture: Protest sparks in dists

People in Dinajpur and Joypurhat formed separate human chains in the district towns yesterday, demanding arrest of Hefajat-e-Islam leader Mawlana Mamunul Haque for opposing establishment of Bangabandhu's sculpture.

In Dinajpur, several hundred people took to the street and formed a human chain in front of Dinajpur Press Club in Kalitola area of the town in the morning.

Speakers alleged that some people are intentionally trying to destroy the communal harmony in the country.

Away in Joypurhat, people from different political and socio-cultural organizations formed a human chain and staged demonstration at Zero Point in this regard yesterday.
