Qulkhwani of Faraaz held
The Qulkhwani of Faraaz Ayaaz Hossain, who was brutally killed along with 19 other hostages in a militant attack at a Dhaka cafe on July 1, was held in Gulshan this afternoon.
Faraaz was the grandson of Latifur Rahman, chairman of Transcom Group. He was the son of Simeen Hossain and Muhammad Waquer Bin Hossain.
His kulkhwani was held at Latifur Rahman's Gulshan residence at road 83, after Asr prayers, reports the Bangla daily Prothom Alo.
Later, the family also arranged a milad mehfi where participants offered a Munajat seeking eternal peace of the departed soul.
Faraaz was buried at Banani Graveyard on July 4.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, prime minister's advisers Gowher Rizvi, Toufique-e- Elahi Chowdhury, eminent jurists Dr Kamal Hossain, Rafique-ul Haq, women leader Hamida Hossain, former adviser to the caretaker government Rokia Afzal Rahman, founder of Gonosasthaya Kendra Zafrullah Chowdhury, editor of daily Samakal Golam Sarwar, editor of daily Prothom Alo Motiur Rahman, editor of The Daily Star Mahfuz Anam, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's adviser Inam Ahmed Chowdhury, former state minister Abul Hasan Chowdhury and former foreign secretary Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury were among those who took part in the kulkhani.
Among the business tycoons, Salman F Rahman, AK Azad Chowdhury, Meer Nasir Hossain, Aftabul Islam, and Rupali Chowdhury also attended the programme.
