President, PM mourn death of Sir Fazle Hasan Abed

President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today mourned the death of Brac founder and chair emeritus Sir Fazle Hasan Abed.

In a condolence message, President Abdul Hamid expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Sir Fazle Hasan Abed.

The President recalled his contribution to the socio-economic development of the country, reports BSS.

“The nation will remember him for long with due respect,” he added.

The President also conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace for the departed soul of Abed.

Besides in a separate condolence message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

Sir Fazle Hasan Abed died of a brain tumor at a hospital in the city tonight at the age of 83.
