"The next general election must be unquestionable," she said in her speech after her re-election at the conclusion of Awami League's 20th council this afternoon.

This was Sheikh Hasina's eighth time election to the chair of Awami League. But, as general secretary, Obaidul Quader replaced Syed Ashraful Islam for the next three years.

The five-year term of Sheikh Hasina's government will end in 2019. In that year, the next general election will be held. Currently, BNP is showing willingness to attend the polls.
